First timer?
Welcome to the Winnipeg Folk Festival! If it’s your first time at the festival, you’ll soon discover that it is much more than a concert.
The most important thing is to remember that it is an outdoor event, and prepare for the elements. Bring comfortable footwear, a hat, sunscreen, mosquito repellent, a chair, pegs for your Main Stage tarp, rain gear, warm clothes for the evening, a flashlight, and a reusable drinking cup (or buy one of ours at the festival). Read through the rest of the information on this website for tips and before you know it you’ll feel right at home.
The Audience Services tent located right outside the Main Gate is also a great place to start. Here you can pick-up a program that includes a map, schedules of all of the performances, and lots of other useful information. And you’ll find volunteers on hand, happy to answer your questions.
But first, you’ll need to go to the Main Gate box office to buy a ticket, or exchange the one you have for a wristband. Then, it’s through the gate and into a wonderful community where you’ll discover delicious food, one-of-a-kind folk art, and an incredible line-up of dynamic and diverse folk music.
If you have any questions, please contact us at info@winnipegfolkfestival.ca. See you at the festival!
