Visual Arts
The Winnipeg Folk Festival is a proud supporter of the visual arts and artisans, and present the following for you to discover during the festival.
Prairie Outdoor Exhibition
The Prairie Outdoor Exhibition is a sprawling outdoor gallery featuring art installations by over 15 local artists. Keep your eyes open and prepared to be inspired and amused! More.
Campground Art & Animation Areas
Communal gathering is an important aspect of the Festival Campground experience and the Winnipeg Folk Festival encourages performance-based, structural, educational and aesthetic projects that facilitate interaction and participation among our campers. Each year, the festival organizers work with groups who apply with project proposals. Not bound to the walls of a gallery, our Festival Campground allows ideas to take on a larger-than-life quality. More.
Young Artists Program
The Winnipeg Folk Festival and the Winnipeg Art Gallery are thrilled to co-present the this week-long visual arts program. The Young Artists Program is a “travelling studio” where young artists ages 14 to 18 work with professional artists to create an outdoor art gallery on the festival site. More.
Hand-Made Village
The Hand-Made Village is a craft village at the festival that features artisans who design and produce their own work. The Winnipeg Folk Festival is proud to support the tradition of crafts both at the festival and throughout the year. More.
Stage Backdrops
