Artistic Achievement Award

The Artistic Achievement Award is presented annually to an artist who has performed at the Winnipeg Folk Festival, who has demonstrated musical excellence, who reflects the values of our organization and who has contributed at an exceptional level to the field of folk music and to the community as a whole.

The Artistic Achievement Award given to the recipient at Folk Festival in the City, the Festival’s annual fundraiser in support of education and outreach. This year’s event will be held November 21, 2014.

Our Organization

The inaugural Winnipeg Folk Festival was held in 1974 as a one-time celebration to mark Winnipeg’s 100th anniversary. It was a free event and attracted an estimated audience of 22,000 over the three-day weekend.
