Jacob & Lily bio
A cathedral is generally a wrenchingly beautiful piece of architecture. Jacob and Lily’s debut album, The Cathedral, is a hauntingly gorgeous collection of music. This is not a coincidence. Otherwise known as Winnipeggers Karla Adolphe (guitar, vocals) and percussionist Caleb Friesen (that’s right, neither are named Jacob or Lily), the duo has recently made waves across Canada for its soaring songs and eclectic rhythms. If their music is gifted with a lilting restlessness, their lives are too: the duo recorded every song on The Cathedral in a different Winnipeg venue, and spent the spring touring across the country, performing on stages in church basements, coffee houses, and community music halls.
