Hello! Any idea where I can buy WFF merchandise now that the festival is over? I’d love to buy a hat for a friend, a shirt for me, a lantern for a friend, etc. Is it possible to buy leftover merchandise after the festival is over?

Volunteered for the first time and absolutely LOVED IT!!! Plan on coming back next year….the only problem I had (other than getting wet from the rain) is that I lost my cellphone!!! My life is on that phone!!! It is a LG Shine silver flip phone. It has a clear protective case and has a cute little silver heart shaped charm attached to it. I worked hard for that phone,so PLEASE if you have found it,or know of its whereabouts, I would greatly appreciate you emailing me. I can offer a reward for it. Please email me at dianne_mcneil@hotmail.com THANK YOU!!!!

    – Lack of concern over emissions shocking –

First of all, kudos on a first-rate festival. You offered a fabulous line-up, wonderful volunteers and a friendly crowd. The washable plates and easy access to recycling was impressive.

However, the total disregard for emission control is irresponsible and harmful to our earth. The parking lot holds hundreds of vehicles and they are all filtered out through one exit. It wasn’t too bad during the day, but after the evening concerts - particularly Sunday night - we sat in one spot for at least 30 minutes before trying a different lane. In total it took one hour to get out of the parking lot.

Perhaps the Festival could explore possibilities of multiple exits, offering shuttle service to quiet camping and re-opening the west end ‘campers gate’ - a pedestrian gate which cut a couple miles off the walk back to Bird’s Hill Park.

At the very least, signage encouraging motorists to refrain from idling their vehicles would be helpful.

The City of Winnipeg did run shuttle buses but I couldn’t find information on schedules or fees. (I asked three different festival volunteers, park office staff, park store staff and phoned Winnipeg Transit.) Perhaps this information could be more readily available.

At a time when numerous Canadian cities are contemplating the ban of drive-through restaurant services, a parking lot full of idling vehicles certainly does not merit a green star for environmental awareness.

Best regards and congrats on a wonderful 35th year.

Hey everyone, great festival wasn’t it! I am hoping someone out there will please HELP me out - I lost my camera, a Canon silver 7.0 megapixel - there are pictures of me (a redhead) and my two year old daughter, Autumn, on the camera - pictures which include ones of her at Tinkertown which are so precious to me. I also took some great pics of her playing with bubbles at the Folk Festival. I would be happy at this point with just getting the memory card back because it is the photos which are PRICELESS!!! THANK YOU ALL!!!

I attended the first festival 35 years ago and every one for the next 10 years. I’ve missed the occasional one since but only for unavoidable reasons. You could call me a diehard fan.

Once again, this year was wonderful. As always, some of the performers that I had never heard of turned out to be favoutites; such as Geoff Brenner and Sheesham and Lotus. Some of the big names sometimes turn out to be a little disappointing because they just run through their hits, but this year I really enjoyed Joan Armatrading and Ray Davies.

I know you want to work on any weaknesses so here is a couple of minor points. The volunteers are always to be commended, but this year those who were directing traffic as we were leaving on Sunday night were a little out of their league, they tried hard but just didn’t seem very well organized. It took ‘way too long to get out of the parking area and tempers were getting frayed.

Secondly, as a photographer, I find the painted backdrops at some of the stages really clutter up my photos. I don’t suggest that you eliminate them; just don’t have them directly behind the performers.
