“Like no canvas or gallery you’ve ever known”

The Winnipeg Folk Festival and the Winnipeg Art Gallery are pleased to present the Young Artists Program at the 2010 Winnipeg Folk Festival: a “travelling studio” for artists 14-18 years old.

The program begins at the WAG studios where participants experiment with a variety of eco-friendly media to create collaborative large-scale outdoor artwork, as well as individual works. The group then heads out to the festival to install their creations in a collective art exhibition that interacts with the natural environment.

Visit the photo galleries to experience the fanciful world created by these emerging artists in past program years. The 2009 gallery was titled “Makin’ It”. Students experimented with hand-made, recycled, reclaimed and eco-friendly materials . . . creativity with a conscience!
