DON’T MISS FUTURE FOLK SENSATIONS — OR THE CHANCE TO BE ONE

Open to emerging musicians age 14-24, the Young Performers Program offers a day of workshops and mentoring with professional musicians performing at the festival and a chance to perform on-stage at the 2010 Winnipeg Folk Festival.

In 2009, the program ran July 9-10 and featured 48 singers, songwriters, guitarists and otherwise multi-talented musicians. On Thursday young performers spent the day in workshops with mentors, jamming, perfecting their songs, and learning to play together.

On Friday, the festival’s Shady Grove Stage featured all the young performers playing original material and group songs, from 11 am until 5:30 pm.
