Keep your eye out for these larger-than-life cowboys, eclectic bohemians, whooping cranes and charming faeries. Green Fools Theatre’s unique, custom crafted masked and costumed characters will tease and delight you!

Art City Parade Station

Join the friendly staff from Art City daily from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. in the production of the  nale parade. All youth and the young at heart are invited to make costumes, hats, and masks of birds, butter ies, bees, and other winged friends in preparation for the Sunday parade — everyone is welcome to march from the Chickadee Big Top stage to the labyrinth.

WINNIPEG INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN’S FESTIVAL - CIRCUS FUN

Run away and join the Circus. Here’s your chance to learn what it takes to be a circus performer.Juggle, Tumble, stilt-walk and more. Friday – Sunday 11:00am-1:00pm with the wacky folks from the Winnipeg International Children’s Festival.

THE WINNIPEG ART GALLERY

Express your love of music through painting with the help of The Winnipeg Art Gallery’s Youth Program coordinators, Aline Fréchette and Kerri Twigg. Children of all ages are invited to paint their favorite musical memory. Friday-Sunday 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. daily. The paintings will be on display for everyone to see for the duration of the Winnipeg Folk Festival.

Reading Tent

When the crowds, the music, and the sun become a bit too much and you need to wind down, sneak away to the reading tent. Relax and enjoy an enchanting tale in this make-believe world. Check the schedule for special guest storytellers Grant Anderson and illustrator Sheldon Dawson.Grant AndersonFrom a long line of storytellers, Grant claims he was born on a riverbank and raised in a swamp. He also says that he is faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive and can leap tall buildings in a single bound. While some of these claims remain unproven, Grant and illustrator Sheldon Dawson have become  xtures in libraries and classrooms throughout Manitoba. Together Grant and Sheldon have published eight works for children. Their latest being a series of illustrated history books that includes The Buffalo Hunters, from which they will be reading during this year’s festival.
