2010 Winnipeg Folk Festival media

Thank you for your interest in covering the 37th annual Winnipeg Folk Festival. Media accreditation applications will be available for download from our website in May 2010.

Please mail the forms to the Winnipeg Folk Festival, or fax them to (204) 231-0076 clearly marked.

Applications must be signed by editors, assignment editors, producers, etc, rather than by the journalist to receive the pass.

We do not accredit freelancers without a definite assignment from a program or publication.

The festival offers a limited number of media passes. Even if you apply by the deadline, space is not guaranteed, and the process is competitive. Media vehicle passes are especially limited. Be very conservative in your vehicle pass requests.

General questions about media accreditation at the festival should be directed to our offices at (204) 231-0096, or info@winnipegfolkfestival.ca.
Other media inquiries should be directed to the Winnipeg Folk Festival Marketing & Publicity Manager (204) 231-0096, or marketing@winnipegfolkfestival.ca.

At the festival, all performer interviews are arranged through our Media Tent. Interviews with artists prior to or after the festival must be arranged directly with artist publicity. Artist web pages are provided on our Performers page. The Winnipeg Folk Festival will not request pre or post-festival interviews for you.
To receive press releases, please email info@winnipegfolkfestival.ca and ask to be added to the media list. Please specify whether you would like to receive press releases by email or by fax (press releases will be faxed to local Winnipeg media only; other media must sign up for email releases).

Interviews are usually available with the Executive Director, the Artistic Director, or other staff depending on the topic. Call the Marketing & Publicity Manager at (204) 231-0096.

Please see our News page for the latest festival news, our Concerts and Events page for upcoming events, and our Photo Galleries for a sample of our photos. Please do not use any of our photos without authorization.

The media downloads page has some general festival photos for editorial use. Contact web@winnipegfolkfestival.ca for the password.

Although the festival can sometimes assist in obtaining artist interviews, performers have their own publicists and it is wiser for you to contact those publicists directly. We are unable to act as the publicist for the large number of performers we deal with.

The Winnipeg Folk Festival would appreciate copies of any coverage of the Festival or our other events and activities. Please send tearsheets to:
