James Culleton’s Art Book Lyrical Lines
James’ book of drawings is a visual “who’s who” of Canada’s roots music scene in some of Winnipeg’s most venerable music venues. It’s available for purchase in the Winnipeg Folk Festival Music Store. A few pieces of the art featured in James Culleton’s book will be featured on the walls of The Folk Exchange until January 14!
Artist statement: “I started drawing in sketchbooks at music shows almost ten years ago to keep myself busy when I wasn’t playing music on stage. This book is a compilation of my favorite drawings out of those sketchbooks. Like an old photograph holds a memory, these drawings have captured significant musical moments for me. Whether it’s a band’s final performance, or a songwriter playing to a full house, these scribbles are lyrical in that they pick up on the mood of the show.”
