It’s no secret that the Winnipeg Folk Festival is bursting with pride over its volunteer community. Friendships and great music continue to bring together a community of volunteers dedicated to planning and producing a world-class event. Volunteering with the Winnipeg Folk Festival is a rewarding experience and a great way to support the Festival!

Volunteering with the Winnipeg Folk Festival is a rewarding experience and a great way to support the Festival!

The key to our success rests in people like you who embody the heart of the Festival and we’re certain this year will be no different. We would love your help in making it happen.

Volunteer applications are open for the Winnipeg Folk Festival July 11-14, 2024!

 To apply to be an  Adult volunteer (18+), please complete this  application form.

To apply to be an Apprentice volunteer, please complete this application form and have your parent/guardian submit the permission form below. Apprentices must be 13 years old as of January 1st and under 18 years old at the time of the Festival.

Thank you for your overwhelming interest in the 2024 Folk Fest Apprentice Crew!

Applications are reviewed and potential apprentices are contacted via phone call to discuss their application in advance of a confirmed spot on the crew. Applicants must demonstrate that they can communicate directly with coordinators during this process.

Applications received prior to April 14, 2024 will be reviewed and contacted to discuss the opportunity to participate on this year’s Apprentice crew. All applicants will be notified via email when the crew is filled.

To apply to be a  single day volunteer, please complete this  application form.

If you are an adult and only available to volunteer one or two days of the Festival weekend, you can still participate!

Single day volunteers participate in all applicable training and meetings, just the same as a full weekend volunteer. You will earn a backstage pass for the day(s) you are able to volunteer.

At this time, three crews are available to choose from: Site Enviro, Site Safety, and Traffic for shifts on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.

Volunteers are the heart of the Winnipeg Folk Festival. We value volunteering as a means for people to share, learn, and connect with our community. We greatly respect the time, skills and dedication that our volunteers bring to the Festival each year. We are committed to providing appropriate and safe responsibilities, applicable orientation and training, effective leadership, fair evaluation and meaningful recognition for all volunteers as well as the opportunity to grow, create and engage with others.

  • A four-day Winnipeg Folk Fest pass with backstage access (exception: single day opportunities, see above).
