Mama’s Broke
Mama’s Broke is a dynamic folk duo, Lisa and Amy, known for their compelling performances full of raw energy. Their Canadian roots heavily influence their music, and they skillfully blend different musical instruments and traditional dance into their act. Their unique compositions draw from various genres, creating a familiar yet innovative soundscape. Since their formation in 2014, they’ve gained momentum, completing tours in Europe, Canada, and the U.S., performing in diverse venues from circus shows to concert halls. Their debut album, Count the Wicked, was released in 2017, winning them a Canadian Folk Music Award and an ECMA Rising Star Award nomination. The duo is committed to challenging borders and promoting freedom of expression and community through their music.
