"I donate to the Winnipeg Folk Festival because I love music. Music is my best friend, in the good times and in the bad times. My favourite thing about the festival is coming out here and watching grandparents with their grandchildren. Watching the grandchildren looking at the stage and understanding what music is about. Watching the next generation create memories by watching live performances is beautiful."

- Howard Mandshein

"I donate to the Winnipeg Folk Festival because I love beautiful new music. I love making sure that our young new artists are given the opportunities to hone their skills and share them with the world. I donate to the Winnipeg Folk Festival because I believe everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy this experience. "

- Gail Asper

"I donate to the festival because I believe in what you’re doing. I want the festival to be around for my daughter, and her kids to come. I believe that the festival adds something to our community, which is demonstrated through its adaptability and the different types of genres that it’s played over the years."

- Ron Bailey

Endowment & Planned Gifts

Gifts to the Winnipeg Folk Festival through endowment or planned giving are wonderful ways to provide lasting support to the Festival and ensure that it will be around for generations to come. It is an honour to be remembered by donors through these thoughtful gifts.

The Winnipeg Folk Festival has three endowment funds:

  • Winnipeg Folk Festival Endowment Fund
  • Ron Oswald Young Performers Endowment Fund
  • Jilian Fast Young Performers Program Endowment Fund.

These funds are held in perpetuity with the annual income generated providing the Festival with a permanent source of revenue support.

Considering a legacy gift to the Winnipeg Folk Festival in your will is another way to make a gift that makes a lasting difference. The Folk Fest is a special place for many. A planned gift is a promise for Festivals to come.

For more information on these programs, contact Shannon Burns at sburns@winnipegfolkfestival.ca.
