Tickets

The Ticket Exchange for the 2026 festival is only for the sold-out RV Permit Tickets as they are in high demand and have sold out. Ticket types that are not sold out are not eligible for the exchange and are still available to purchase through Front Gate Tickets. 

Resale ticket prices are capped at the original face value. For example, a seller can receive up to $64.75 for a $70 RV Permit ticket ($70 – Service Fees and GST = $65). Tickets can also be listed below face value, as low as $5.00 at the seller's discretion. 

Sellers are charged a 7.5% service fee, calculated on the ticket price they choose to sell their ticket. If your tickets do not sell, there is no cost/fee for listing on the exchange. 

For example: Seller price $64.75 +$5.25 (seller fee and GST) = $70. The seller will take home $64.75 (70 - services fees and GST). 

Both the seller and the buyer pay a 7.5% service fee, calculated on the resale ticket price. The fee includes all applicable taxes and covers the cost of using the Ticket Exchange. 

A 7.5% service fee will be added to the ticket purchase price. The breakdown of the price and the fees are shown underneath the button. The final price will be shown on the button this price will include the fees and taxes. 

For example: Buyer price $70.00 +$5.25 (buyer fees and GST) = $75.25. 

Canadian citizens can receive a direct deposit to their bank account. When setting up the payout, you will be asked to provide information for your bank account. 

By default, your payment will be sent from the U.S. by cheque upon completion of the necessary tax forms (see ‘The Ticket Exchange asking sellers for tax information’ below).  

Please be sure that the email and address you enter on the form is the same as what is in your Front Gate account. 

There is no cost/fee if your ticket is listed and it doesn't sell. 

Ticket prices on the Ticket Exchange are capped close to the face value so that sellers cannot list their tickets for a profit. This new platform is intended to allow those who can no longer use their ticket to sell it to someone who can use the ticket in a verified way. The platform is not for folks to make a profit from the high demand RV Permit tickets. 

The Ticket Exchange pricing is based on the original ticket face value, taxes, and a service fee of 7.5%. The Winnipeg Folk Festival does not receive any of the service fees and therefore does not profit from the Ticket Exchange transactions. 

Unfortunately, the two services do not connect. The folks on the waitlist won’t be notified when tickets become available on the Ticket Exchange. Folks on the waitlist are encouraged to check out the Ticket Exchange often to purchase an RV Permit ticket if available.  

The waitlist is for the limited amount of RV/Trailer Permit tickets the Festival held back for internal use. If they are not required, we will release those tickets to the waitlist. If tickets become available, they will be released to the waitlist on a first come first served basis.  

We do not recommend the purchase of tickets through third-party platforms. Many of these are scams or counterfeits, and there is nothing we can do to remedy these issues or verify these tickets. If you want 100% confidence, you must purchase your tickets at Front Gate Tickets or the Ticket Exchange.  

If your tickets have sold, you may receive an email from Ticketmaster asking for tax information to be added to your account. 

Please complete the Seller Tax Details form using the link provided in this email. If this form is left incomplete, your refund may be delayed. 

• At the very bottom of the email, you will read a disclaimer that mentions if you are not a US citizen, Ticketmaster still needs you to verify that you are not a US citizen. 

• This email will automatically be sent once every two weeks if the form is not completed. 

• If you happen to be a U.S. citizen or hold dual citizenship, you will need to certify that you are a U.S. citizen in the “My Location” section at the top of the form. Complete the rest of the form as directed. You will be required to provide a Taxpayer Identification Number. Once finished, select “Submit”.

The Ticket Exchange prices are based on the original ticket price and are not subject to the dynamic pricing you will find on other secondary resale websites. The WFF worked to ensure that the Ticket Exchange prices remain as close to original purchase prices as possible. By using the Ticket Exchange, you are helping us in our fight against unscrupulous resellers.
