The Festival Campground is a place unlike anything else. During the Festival weekend, it is home to 6,000 people and is a vibrant and beautiful area where music and community are celebrated!
The first time you hear a folkie yell “Happy Folk Fest!” followed by a roar of cheers that rolls through the campground, you feel right at home. A place where for four days you get to live in the beautiful outdoors surrounded by acoustic jams and where every neighbour is a friend. It’s an experience you just won’t find anywhere else!

Design Contest
Get your creative juices flowing because this summer we’re introducing the Festival Campground Design Contest where you could win four 4-day tickets with Festival Camping for the 2024 Festival. Gather your friends and start brainstorming ideas to make your campsite stand out. From art installations to group activities, the possibilities are endless!
Not sure where to start? How about decking out your campsite in 70s decor to celebrate the first-ever Folk Fest or hosting your own games with fellow campers? And don’t forget to add some extra pizzazz with costumes, decorations and solar lighting. Let’s make this year’s Festival Campground the most vibrant and community-driven yet!
New This Year
We wanted to let you know that we’ve been listening to your feedback from last summer. We’re excited to share some news with you – we’ve been working hard to make the Festival Campground even better and easier to navigate. That’s why we’re adding some new landmark points and extra lighting, so you can find your campsite and friends even when it gets dark. We hope these new additions will make your Festival Campground experience even more enjoyable!
Festival Campground Tower
Meet up with your friends and hang out at the Festival Campground Tower! Here’s a sneak peek at the drawing of this new three-storey addition that’s sure to provide a unique well-lit gathering spot for you and your Folk Fest family. Stay tuned for some more structures to come!
Shade Tent
Stay cool under the new shade tent at the campground! You might have noticed the new shade structures around the Festival site last summer. Now, we’re happy to welcome one to the campground to give you an extra spot to relax and catch some shade.
Way-finding Flags & Signs
Easily find your camping area with the help of our Folk Fest buddies! We’ll have these flags as well as arrow signs to direct folkies to Campground Central, Food Vendors, RV and Festival Site. These flags and signs will help campers better navigate or even meet up with pals.
Additionally, we believe EVERYONE has the right to experience the Winnipeg Folk Festival as a safe place, in a community full of inclusiveness, respect and kindness. We are excited to have Fiddler’s Green, NorWest Co-op Community Health, REES and Survivors Hope Crisis Centre available to help folkies feel safer while enjoying the Festival Campground.
